Metals and Hydrocarbon Removal for Slipway and Refinery Wash Water Reuse

Sector: Marine
Location: Australia

MyCelx plus AOP reduced TPH 97%, BTEXN 97%, copper 99%, zinc 98% and TBT to zero for Department of Health reuse quality.

Application: oil refinery and marine slipway wastewater with high hydrocarbons and metals, treated for compliant discharge and Department of Health reuse.

Plant: containerised MyCelx filtration followed by Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) polishing; MyCelx removes the free and emulsified hydrocarbons that would otherwise destroy AOP efficacy.

Results: TPH 1,750 to below 50 ug/L (97%), BTEXN 23 to 0.798 mg/L (97%), TBT below 2 ngSn/L to zero, suspended solids 51 to below 5 mg/L, copper 23 to 0.15 mg/L (99%), zinc 5.3 to 0.083 mg/L (98%), lead 0.031 to below 0.001 mg/L, mercury to below 0.0001 mg/L, faecal coliforms and E. coli to below 1 CFU/100 mL.
